Bhubaneswar: School of Human Settlements(SHS), XIM University, Bhubaneswar is hosting its annual urban conclave, SAMAVESH’21 on 23rd, 24th and 25thSeptember, 2021. The theme for the Conclave is‘ ‘Transforming Cities: Striving Towards Resilient Urban Systems.’ This year due to the pandemic, SHS is holding an e-SAMAVESH in the Zoom platform.
The event is brought by HabituX- The Student Association of SHS and in collaboration with CAS-SHS, Reputed personalities and esteemed leaders from the industry enlightening the students through their insights and giving the students an opportunity to discuss with the panelists various urban issues by fostering greater interaction between the industry and academia.
The event highlights ways to protect our urban environment and making our cities resilient, well equipped to deal with natural and man-made events, absorbing the effect of a wide range of economic, environmental and social dangers.Talking about city resilience, which can be achieved by making urban transport system sustainable, providing resilient infrastructure, reducing impact of urban built environment, focusing on community networks, innovative solutions to improve urban livelihoods.Restoration, reuse and effective generation can also curb the risk of mass species extinctions and future pandemics.
